Reiki by Mana Reiki

Reiki is a simple, gentle, hands-on energy technique that is used for stress reduction and relaxation. Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions nor do they prescribe or perform medical treatment, prescribe substances, nor interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional. Reiki does not take the place of medical care. It is recommended that you and your pet see a licensed veterinary professional for any physical or psychological ailments. Reiki can complement any medical care that your pet may be receiving. The body has the ability to heal itself and to do so, complete relaxation is often beneficial. Long term imbalances in the body sometimes require multiple sessions in order to facilitate the level of relaxation needed by the body to heal itself.

  • Additional benefits of Reiki include…

  • Alleviates anxiety, stress, nervousness and produces a state of calm

BEMER Therapy for Dogs Increased energy, mobility and vitality for your dog!

What is BEMER?

BEMER is designed to improve circulation thereby support the body’s natural self-regulating processes. Blood is the body’s universal means of transport. Oxygen, nutrients, chemical messengers (e.g., hormones) and immune cells are all transported through our blood. When our body’s cells, tissues and organs are adequately nourished and metabolic waste products are removed, our bodies become healthy and function properly. The optimal regulation of circulation is a prerequisite for ensuring good levels of health and fitness.

How does it work?

The BEMER device is a simple mat that is placed on the floor and your dog lays on it for about 15 minutes.  The mat has coils that create an electromagnetic field that improves the microcirculation and blood flow. Dogs are encouraged through positive reinforcement to rest on the mat for the approximately 8-15 minute therapy session. The majority of dogs settle into the mat within minutes and fall asleep or rest quietly for the duration of the application.

But how does it REALLY work?

The electromagnetic frequency stimulates virtually all cells in the body, including: bone, muscle, immune system cells and even stem cells. PEMF has been shown to increase bone healing, improve muscle function and gene expression associated with stem cell functions. Some of the exact mechanisms of how cells positively respond to PEMF is still a mystery. One thing that is widely understood is that PEMF delivered at the proper frequencies markedly increase microvascular circulation, which has numerous health benefits and allows the organism (dog, cat, horse, human) to experience an ideal state of health for the body to repair damage and improve vital functions. A few specific things happen after therapy including increased ATP production, normalization of cellular membrane potentials, increased oxygenation of tissues and improved removal of toxins from the cells.

What Does BEMER feel like?

The perception of the BEMER application differs from user to user. Some humans experience a light feeling of warmth or a tingling sensation. Most feel noticeably relaxed and invigorated after the application. I have found that dogs become very relaxed and often have to be woken up after the session is finished.

What results can be expected from BEMER sessions for dogs?

Dogs who receive BEMER applications will have increased mobility, energy and vitality. Owners report that the dogs are "more perky," have more energy and have improved mobility.  In humans, it is reported that they have enhanced concentration, mental acuity and stress reduction, improved sleep, endurance and strength.

Are there any side effects?

There are no known short term or long term side effects.  Dogs that are undergoing chemotherapy or are prone to seizures should consult with the supervising doctor for an in-depth discussion of a risk/benefit analysis.

What about medications my dog is taking?

Every dog is different in how they will respond to the BEMER and their medications.  You should talk with your veterinarian about your dog's medications as the BEMER applications progress and discuss together dosages and frequency of medications.   All regular medications that most old dogs take (NSAIDs, pain medications, glucosamine, etc.) are safe to be used with the BEMER and may be reduced over time. The only medications that a dog may take that should never be used at the same time as the BEMER is chemotherapy as this may change how the anti-cancer drugs work in the body.   Once the chemotherapy is complete, BEMER may help improve recovery time

What diseases does BEMER cure?

NONE. BEMER therapy will increase microvascular circulation which can have widespread beneficial effects, but is not currently meant as a sole treatment for any disease condition. With increased circulation comes an increased cellular oxygen supply and removal of toxin and waste products. This process allows for increased natural healing and optimized cell metabolism and catabolism all equaling increased health, energy and vitality.

How quickly will the dogs show results?

Some dogs show improvements in 2 to 3 treatments but it is recommended for all dogs to allow 8 weeks until clinical results start to appear.

How often are treatments recommended?

Initially, for general wellness purposes, dogs should be "beamed" at least 3 times a week for the first 1 to 3 weeks depending on response, then it can gradually be reduced to one to two times weekly. In humans the application is recommended daily, which can be difficult for some dog owners, so we recommend it as frequently as you are able. For dogs that have recently undergone surgery or dentistry, a daily treatment for the first week can improve recovery time. Since the effects on microvascular circulation are relatively short lived, more sessions shorten the time period in which results are seen.

How much does a BEMER session cost?

Each session costs $20 and lasts between 8-15 minutes.  Sessions can be scheduled with Stephanie on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

BEMER fun fact: Research from NASA has had a significant impact on pushing PEMF therapy forward because their studies with astronauts proved several health benefits. BEMER is currently under contract with NASA to construct new space suits embedded with its proprietary technology
